anthropologie's Fern Cabinet vs Amazon
One of the best selling Anthropologie furniture pieces is their Fern cabinet. Love it for the shape and functionality, but choke a bit on spending over $2600 on a storage cabinet? Yep, us, too. This cabinet on Amazon has a very similar style with basically the same functionality at less than about a fifth of the price. We lose the lovely curved legs, but save a couple of thousand bucks. Would anyone notice? Probably not.
the iconic mila mirror vs an amazon mirror
Yes, the Mila mirrors are absolutely lovely. Are they almost $800 worth of lovely? Not when we can find something just as pretty for a quarter of the price. There are literally hundreds of ornate gold mantle mirrors on Amazon in the $200 price range. We just happen to really like this one.
the cheetah rug
We showed our dupe rug in our recent post on handmade rugs on Amazon, and here we are again. These are literally so close you’d never notice the difference. A lot of times when you chose a dupe over the real thing, you risk getting a lesser quality item. Our Amazon find is handmade, 100% wool, and the 9×12 less than half the price.
$98 for a pillow? We can do better
The Anthroplogie velvet pillows are gorgeous and they feel amazing, but $98 bucks for a throw pillow seems a little crazy. Here we’ll need two Amazon items to fill the bill, the covers plus the inserts. Our cover find is two velvet covers for $17 bucks plus a set of two inserts for another $36. For a total of about $53 dollars you get 2 velvet pillows, or close to half the price of one Anthropologie. PS, check the reviews on those covers!
pinstripe throw
Theirs is cashmere, ours definitely isn’t. Either would be a cozy curl up. We love throws for evenings in, for cool nights on the deck, or for added layers on nights where you can’t sleep because your feet are cold.
Their’s is pinstriped and bougie. Ours is herringbone and washable so your spilled hot cocoa won’t ruin it.
A hand knotted boho throw
Not a direct match to Anthro, but it’s in line with their eclectic style. With a retro-boho-nordic style, it’s gorgeous draped over a chair or as a lap blanket for cool nights. Unlike similar throws on Anthropologie, this is made from acrylic (much easier care than wool). We love how the cut colorful striped tufted details and hand-made knot elaborate fringes add a touch of whimsy, and it’s machine washable.
gorgeous embossed glass jar candle
Anthroplogie is known for both their glass and their candles. Double up with this pretty embossed glass jar candle for about $15 bucks (about half the price of their similar ones). Our choice is a generous 16oz size and comes in 22 different scents (the bergamont floral is amazing!).
Hand-poured with white wax, this comes with double wicks for an long and even burn.
